Crunching Tigers
The newest team on the Amsterdam Ultimate horizon: The Crunching Tigers!
Team statement:
'It's the eye of the tiger
its the cream of the fight
risin up to the challenge of our rivals
and the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
and he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger'
(Or simply: 'Ta tatata tatata taaaaaaaa! Ta tatata tatata tatatiiiiiiiigers!' )

Besides wearing as much tiger stripes as possible, our aim basically is to master this game called ultimate frisbee. Most of us are new to the game, with experience ranging from nill to 2 year tops (not counting those aimless bikini sessions on the beach, or eating breakfast from your frisbee on early morning camp sites).We aim to learn lots, grow as a team, invite new members to our ranks, and just have fun.
After surviving the 2008 outdoor spring and mixed competition, the Tigers will proceed to the outdoor spring competition of 2009. Everyone who has joined or wants to join our team is invited to come along, as are Crunch/Nuts members that don't play competition and would like to join in the fun (i.e. help us out).
We train every Tuesday at Sportpark Drieburg (19.30 - 21.30 h). Plus, on sunny Sunday afternoons, we often meet up in Westerpark around 14.00 for disc throwing and cappuchino sipping.

24-05-2008: Los Tigros design their first team shirt. Next practice, the other Crunch teams pass very jealous looks.
26-05-2008: We join Amsterdam League! Also, we sometimes score a point with the help of our VIP players Maarten, Frans, Feike and Philip.
01-06-2008: The Tigers play their last outdoor spring competition game. We can look back on a series of wonderful Sundays during which we have actually improved our game and our scores. And we got to enjoy the words of wisdom and great play of our guest players Frank and Wayne. End result: 4th place of 5.
Breaking News: The Crunching Tigers are the runner-up in spirit scores of the outdoor spring competition 2008! More importantly, we are ranked highest of all Amsterdam teams, making us officialy the nicest Crunch team.
August 30&31: Tigers get a tan! A delegation of 'veteran' Tigers, brandnew Tigers and 'Oetser-Oscar' enjoys a wonderful weekend of beach ultimate at Monsterball.
Fall 2008: Tigers and Oetsers unite forces for the outdoor mixed competition as ... 'The Crunching Oetsers'!. Die-hards Rosa and Yannick were present every single competition game, good work guys!
