Crunchiness in the very sunny 'Fiffen, Kanzen, Ticken' tournament in Münster

This weekend all you crunchies were represented by 10 phenomenal examples of crunchiness in the very sunny 'Fiffen, Kanzen, Ticken' tournament in Münster Germany. We had a great squad with Tristan, Tjeerd, Geert, Feike, Davide, Lennart, Anna, Marieke, Julia (not a crunch member yet, but I'm working on it) and me (Louis). The format was 'at least one girl on the line' and we rocked it.
We had five games on saturday. Our first game was against Aachen, a great mixed club (second in Germany), but it was their second team. It was a great team though for a second team and we had a lot of trouble. It came to a universe point on 8-8, which we fortunately claimed. It turned out that our other pool-games were to be be a little easier, because we were starting to find each other on the field and, to be fair, because the opponents were a little weaker.
We won with big numbers from Rotatoes potatoes Braunschweig, Indiscret Münster, and the great high school team Bats from Osnabrück (watch out for these guys, in a year or two they can be really great players). That made us first in our pool and allowed us to play quarter finals. This was against Frühsport from Cologne (also not the first team). By this time both Lennart and Marieke were injured :( leaving us with only eight playing players. the other team had 10 players, and took a great pick-up player from another team without even asking us as well. When I asked them if they could play without pick-ups or give us one of the same callibre we were severely frowned at. In the end they played without this player after the first 4 points, but the mood was sort of grim on their side. I don't know if this affected their play, but while they were cursing at each other, we won the game with 13-3.
We went into the city for some nice dinner and drinks, returned for the party and danced 'till we could dance no more (approximately 40 minutes).

Next day we had to play Semi-finals (!!!!) agains the Haaner Hänchen. OK it didn't go so well. We started out great with a 2 point lead, with some awesome teamplay, fast handling great cuts. And the our tank was empty. They were really fit, closed our dumps like no other team did, and put some poaches in really tricky places. We lost this game with big numbers. After being behind 8-2 we sirt of got our game together by playing horizontal stack insteadof vertical, but even then they were still better.

So third place it had to be. Against the Goldfingers from Potsdam. They set a 4 man cup, which wasn't the problem. We dropped silly discs and threw away too much. So did they, but their hammers at stall 9 were catched in the endzone. It was a disgraceful game too watch on offence, but our defence still did awesome work. All in all I think it just necked us that we only had one sub sine saturday afternoon. And we lost the game.
The we watched DDT in the Final against tha Haane Hänchen. Haaner hänchen won it, and DDT got the spirit price.

Next time I'll see you all, will be on windmill.
Untill then, Keep 'em flying,

Louis (From Frankfurt)
